On September 26, 2026, Allie and Nick Amsler returned to Allie’s hometown for a backyard wedding on her sister’s property just outside Fort Wayne. With both of them living out of town, the setting made their wedding feel less like a destination and more like a return home. It was intimate, nostalgic, joyful, and deeply rooted in family.
I’ve always wanted to be apart of a backyard wedding and this day was truly the best I could’ve imagined. Allie’s sister’s home is set in farm country, surrounded by grassy fields and pastures. A tent stretched across the backyard, with raw wood tables and spring-inspired pastel florals. The evening was bursting with bright florals and comfy touches like ice cream on the porch and a bonfire with blankets, bringing together the fun of summer with the coziness of impending autumn.
Allie got ready surrounded by pieces of her late mother’s story. Her mom’s wedding photographs were displayed alongside framed pieces of her wedding dress, tying her story to Allie’s. Allie’s bouquet was wrapped in a piece of fabric from her mom’s wedding dress as well, carrying something of her mother with her as she stepped into her own marriage.
There was something especially meaningful about returning to Allie’s hometown to celebrate. After building a life away from home, she and Nick gathered their people together in the place that had shaped her, making the wedding feel like a beautiful return before the start of their forever.
Allie and Nick, your wedding was such a beautiful reminder that legacy is often found in the smallest details. In a photograph, a cozy backyard, and the people who carry our stories with us. It was an honor to preserve a little piece of yours.
